The Feldman Law Firm, PLLC has announced that it will be offering two annual scholarships for disabled veterans. The scholarships focus on providing tuition assistance to disabled veterans who wish to continue their education. The scholarships will each be in the amount of $1,000.Men and women who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States deserve the honor, recognition and respect of the nation. In the case of disabled veterans, we believe in assisting those men and women in achieving the education that will expand their self-esteem and their employment opportunities. Our annual scholarship program is designed to help disabled veterans to continue their education through tuition assistance.
Description of the Scholarships
These are two separate $1,000 scholarships offered annually* to disabled veterans. The scholarship funds may be used for tuition at a college or university (including a community college), a trade school, or a secondary school. It is not required that the applicant be enrolled in an educational program at the time of his or her application. The winners will have one year from the date of the award to provide a tuition invoice from the school of their choice. A check for $1,000 will then be sent to the educational institution.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, you must be a disabled veteran of the United States Armed Forces with a disability rating of at least 30 percent. You may be asked to provide proof of your disability and your status as a veteran.
Deadline
The online application, as well as any attachments/uploads, must be submitted to us no later than November 10, 2016.
The Application
In order to apply, you need to take the following steps:
- Complete the online application form below, including agreeing to the terms and conditions of the scholarship program.
- Upload a short statement of no more than 100 words explaining your educational goals.
- (REQUIRED) Upload an essay (it should be between 650 and 1,000 words) that discusses how your life has been affected by your military service and/or disability.
The Selection Process
Winners will be chosen in part by the online interest that is generated by their application. The specifics of your application, as well as its style, emotional appeal, etc., may generate online interest and therefore may increase your chances of success in the process. However, the final decision will be made at the discretion of Adam Feldman. The winners will be chosen on or before December 9, 2016, and will be notified of the decision by email.
&The Feldman Law Firm reserves the right to discontinue the scholarship program at its discretion at the end of any calendar year.
*If the veteran is being fully compensated for their schooling through the Government, and they meet all of the other criteria, they will still be eligible and the scholarship will be granted in the form of a direct payment to the veteran.
