Adam M.\’s Story

At the moment, over 10 million veterans are unemployed. Not only are service members leaving the military into a rough economic environment, but also carry the weight of psychological and physical damage from years at war in the middle east. The trauma caused by war has produced over 22 veteran suicides a day.

As a veteran, one of largest problems I have faced upon the end of my time in the military was the feeling of no longer providing a service to others.  I have found that computer science offers opportunities to work on technologies that impact the lives of people all around the world.  The demand for those with an education in computer science is vast, and needed for the United States to continue being a leader in innovation.

My intention is to attract veterans into the world of computer science. With the scholarship contribution provided by the Feldman Law Firm, I plan to accomplish the following:

  • Attend the University of San Francisco, and obtain a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
  • Create a veteran’s organization for those interested in computer science.
  • Develop a business plan to create a non-profit organization that provides low cost / free computer science education to veterans in need.

The field of computer science has provided me a path outside the military, and I plan to share that path with others. If you would like any further information regarding my plan, please contact me at your convenience.

Kind regards,

Adam M
